Zusammenfassung: | To provide an image forming apparatus that can further reduce the time to cool an occurrence place of paper jam even though the image forming apparatus uses the same air blowing system during both a normal time and paper jam processing.SOLUTION: In an image forming apparatus (100), at least two fans (501, 502) generates, on the downstream of a fixing unit (30), at least either one of an air current for cooling a sheet or a paper feed path or an air current for removing ultrafine particles from the periphery of the sheet or the inside of the paper feed path. At least one of the fans (501) is an axial fan that can blow air in two directions. These fans are arranged such that when the axial fan inverts the air-blowing direction, the air current generated by these fans forms a vortex (VRX) in an area on the downstream of the fixing unit including the paper feed path. When sheet jam in the paper feed path is detected, a control unit (50D) causes the axial fan to invert the air-blowing direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
【課題】通常時とジャム処理時との両方で同じ送風系統を利用しても、ジャム発生箇所の冷却時間を更に短縮可能な画像形成装置を提供する。【解決手段】画像形成装置(100)では、少なくとも2基のファン(501、502)が定着部(30)下流の通紙経路に、シートもしくは通紙経路を冷却する気流、または、シートの周囲もしくは通紙経路の中から超微粒子を除去する気流の少なくとも一方を生じさせる。これらのファンのうち少なくとも1基(501)は双方向に送風可能な軸流ファンである。この軸流ファンが送風方向を逆転させた場合、これらのファンの生じさせる気流が定着部下流の通紙経路を含む領域に渦(VRX)を形成するように、これらのファンは配置されている。通紙経路におけるシートのジャムが検出された場合、制御部(50D)が軸流ファンに送風方向を逆転させる。【選択図】図5 |
