Zusammenfassung: | To provide a container for used nuclear fuel and a method of forming the container for used nuclear fuel, which can efficiently suppress loads on inner parts to be added when a neutron blocking member thermally expands.SOLUTION: A container 1 for used nuclear fuel includes: a main body 2 in a practically cylindrical shape; an outer casing 3 over the main body 2; and a plurality of neutron blocking members 41 arranged between the main body 2 and the outer casing 3. The neutron blocking members 41 contain hollow parts 42, respectively, which extend in the axial direction of the main body 2. When the respective neutron blocking members 41 thermally expand, their expansion allowances are formed near the sides of the hollow parts 42, respectively.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
