To provide a braking device which can easily replace or adjust components constituting the braking device.SOLUTION: A braking device for braking movement of a code CD, comprises: a motion conversion part DT which converts the movement of the code CD to rotational motion; a resistance imparting part RA which imparts resistance to the rotational motion; and a case 10 which holds at least a part of the motion conversion part DT and the resistance imparting part RA.
