Zusammenfassung:To provide a cooling device capable of securely protecting a heat exchanger disposed in a low-pressure system from pressure change of refrigerant gas with high responsiveness.SOLUTION: A cooling device 1 includes: a compressor C for compressing refrigerant gas sucked from a low-pressure system; a cooler 3 for cooling refrigerant gas compressed by the compressor C and discharged to a high-pressure system; an expander E for expanding the refrigerant gas cooled by the cooler 3; and a heat exchanger 5 for cooling a cooling target by using the refrigerant gas expanded by the expander E and discharged to the low-pressure system. The cooling device also includes at least: a sealed container 6 in which the refrigerant is sealed; a low-pressure connection passage 6b for connecting the sealed container 6 and the low-pressure system; and a low-pressure on-off valve 9 for opening/closing the low-pressure connection passage 6b.
