Zusammenfassung:To provide a welding device which permits continuous welding for a long time and improves operation efficiency and to provide a welding method using the welding device.SOLUTION: A welding device for gas shield arc welding includes a portable welding robot to which a welding torch 200 provided with a nozzle 210 which guides ejection of shield gas and a contact tip 220 for supplying electricity to a consumable electrode, a feeding device which supplies the consumable electrode to the welding torch, a welding power source which supplies electric power to the consumable electrode via the contact tip 220, a gas supply source which supplies shield gas to the welding torch 200 and a control device which controls the portable welding robot. Therein, when viewing the welding torch 200 from the ejection side of the shield gas (an arrow mark A), the contact tip 220 is arranged on the inside of an opening of the nozzle 210, the nozzle 210 and the contact tip 220 have relatively movable structure (refer to a dot-line arrow) and a tip inner diameter of the nozzle 210 is in the range of 10 to 20 mm.
