Zusammenfassung:To provide an electrode having high performance under low humidity conditions, a membrane electrode assembly in which the electrode is used, an electrochemical cell, a stack, a fuel cell, a vehicle, and a flying object.SOLUTION: An electrode includes: a catalyst layer 10 including a plurality of catalyst units each having a porous body structure or a laminated structure including a gap layer; a water retention layer 20 including a conductive material and a hydrophilic material; and a gas diffusion layer 40. The water retention layer is disposed between the catalyst layer and the gas diffusion layer. The size of each catalyst unit is 50 nm or more and 2 μm or less. The average primary particle size of the conductive material is 10 nm or more and 300 nm or less.
