To provide a mud material that can suppress difficulty of opening while protecting the lower part of a blast furnace tap hole.SOLUTION: There is provided a mud material for filling a blast furnace tap hole including a refractory raw material and a binder, which contains 3 mass% or more and 20 mass% or less of a titania-based material with a grain diameter less than 0.3 mm and 3 mass% or more and 15 mass% or less of a carbonaceous material with a grain diameter less than 10 μm in 100 mass% of the refractory raw material.SELECTED DRAWING: None 【課題】高炉の出銑孔下部を保護しつつ、開孔難を抑制できるマッド材を提供する。【解決手段】耐火原料及びバインダを含有する高炉出銑孔充填用のマッド材であって、耐火原料１００質量％中に粒径０．３ｍｍ未満のチタニア質原料を３質量％以上２０質量％以下、粒径１０μｍ未満の炭素質原料を３質量％以上１５質量％以下含有する、マッド材。【選択図】なし
