To improve the safety in opening a car door by using an external opening tool during maintenance work of an elevator.SOLUTION: An external opening tool 200 for opening a landing door 103 of an elevator from the outside, includes an operation detection device for detecting opening operation done by the external opening tool 200 and outputting an operation signal, a communication device 240 transmitting the operation signal to an external device, and a notification device for outputting notification.
