To provide an imaging apparatus capable of adequately detecting a shielding object that inhibits imaging while discriminating from a shielding object that does not inhibit imaging.SOLUTION: A captured image P captured by an imaging section is divided into multiple sections #1-#16, and also the captured image P is divided into multiple blocks A-D with a predetermined number of sections as one block. A shielding state of each section included in the block is verified for each one of the multiple blocks A-D.
