To provide an occupant monitoring device capable of capturing an occupant in a proper luminance at a point of time when shielding is released when an imaging section is temporarily shielded during steering.SOLUTION: An occupant monitoring device 100 includes: an imaging section 1 which captures an occupant; an image processing section 2 which performs prescribed processing on an image of the occupant captured by the imaging section 1; and a sensitivity control section 5 which switches imaging sensitivity of the imaging section 1. The occupant is monitored on the basis of the image of the occupant processed in the image processing section 2. The imaging section 1 is arranged to face the occupant with a steering wheel interposed therebetween.
