Zusammenfassung:To improve a recording speed when double sides of a plurality of sheet are recorded continuously.SOLUTION: A recording device comprises feeding means for feeding sheet, carrier means for carrying sheet fed by the feeding means, recording means capable of performing a recording operation on a first side and a second side of the sheet carried by the carrier means based on recording data, reverse means for performing a reverse operation to reverse sides of the sheet of which first side is recorded and carrier control means capable of performing an overlapping operation to overlap a tip of a preceding sheet reversed by the reverse means after of which first side is recorded by the recording means with a tip of a subsequent sheet fed next to the preceding sheet by the feeding means, wherein the carrier control means performs the overlapping operation when a recording density on the first side of the preceding sheet is less than a first threshold value and does not perform the overlapping operation when the recording density is more than the first threshold value.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 11 【課題】複数枚のシートを連続的に両面記録する場合に、記録速度を向上すること。【解決手段】シートを給送する給送手段と、前記給送手段により給送されるシートを搬送する搬送手段と、前記搬送手段により搬送されるシートの第1面及び第2面に記録データに基づいて記録動作を行うことが可能な記録手段と、第1面に記録が行われたシートの表裏を反転する反転動作を行う反転手段と、前記記録手段により第1面が記録された後に前記反転手段により反転された先行シートと、前記給送手段により前記先行シートの次に給送される後続シートの先端を重ねる重ね動作を実行可能な搬送制御手段と、を備える記録装置であって、前記搬送制御手段は、前記先行シートの第1面における記録濃度が第1閾値未満の場合は前記重ね動作を実行し、前記記録濃度が前記第1閾値以上の場合は前記重ね動作を実行しない。【選択図】図11
