To provide a wireless communication device that does not need to be aware of the level of an audio and the level of an ambient sound where a VOX function works.SOLUTION: A transmission unit 5 modulates an audio input signal and transmits the audio input signal as an RF signal. The reception unit 6 demodulates the received RF signal and outputs the RF signal as an audio output signal. An audio level comparison unit 34 compares the level of the audio input signal obtained by collecting the audio by a microphone 1 with the VOX sensitivity level. A transmission determination unit 31 instructs the transmission unit 5 to transmit the audio input signal when the level of the audio input signal is equal to or higher than the VOX sensitivity level on the basis of the comparison result by the audio level comparison unit 34.
