OPTICAL CONNECTOR

To provide an optical connector that can easily built an engagement member in a housing without being restricted by the arrangement of a spring.SOLUTION: The optical connector includes: a housing for containing a ferrule so that the ferrule can move backward; a spring in the housing for pushing the spring forward; and an engagement member connected to one end of the spring and being in engagement with the housing to be fixed to the housing, the engagement member having a pair of arm parts and the arm parts holding the spring in between. The housing is provided with a window part in an upper surface and in a downward surface when the direction perpendicular to the direction in which the spring pushes the ferrule and the direction in which the pair of arm parts are lined is a vertical direction.
