WRITING INSTRUMENT

To provide a writing instrument in which a tail plug can be mounted on a barrel in a state in which rattling is prevented and which is configured so that the tail plug does not easily come off the barrel.SOLUTION: The writing instrument has a barrel 5 and a tail plug 6 mounted on the rear end of the barrel 5. The tail plug 6 comprises a hook portion 6d that abuts on the rear end of the barrel 5 and a locking portion 6g that is locked to a locked portion 2d provided on the inner wall of the barrel 5. The rear end of the locking portion 6g is provided with a rear contact portion 6m extending in a direction inclined with respect to the axial direction, and a rear wall portion 6n connected to the front end of the rear contact portion 6m and projecting outward.
