DISPLAY UNIT FOR VEHICLE

To provide a display unit for a vehicle that, when compositing images obtained from a plurality of cameras and displaying the composite image, can display an image on the periphery of a subject vehicle from which the presence/absence of a vehicle behind the subject vehicle and an obstacle behind the subject vehicle in the dead angle of some cameras can be recognized.SOLUTION: A display unit for a vehicle (1) comprises: a display (14a); a rear camera (8) that photographs the rear of a subject vehicle (2); a right side camera (4) and a left side camera (6) that photograph the lateral sides and rear of the subject vehicle, and in which at least part of a photographing range of the rear camera overlaps the photographing ranges of the right side camera and left side camera; and a display control unit (18) that composites a rear image (RV) and rear lateral side images (SV) according to a predetermined condition such that the angles of view of the images do not overlap each other to create a single image (IT) and displays the single image on a display, or displays the rear image and rear lateral side images on the display as a plurality of images in which parts of the angles of view of the images overlap each other.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4 【課題】複数のカメラから得られた画像を合成して表示するときに、一部のカメラの死角に入っている後方車両や後方障害物の有無を確認可能な自車両周辺の画像を表示することができる車両用表示装置を提供する。【解決手段】車両用表示装置(1)は、ディスプレイ(14a)と、自車両(2)の後方を撮影する後方カメラ(8)と、自車両の側方及び後方を撮影する右側カメラ(4)及び左側カメラ(6)であって、後方カメラの撮影範囲の少なくとも一部が右側カメラ及び左側カメラの撮影範囲と重複する、右側カメラ及び左側カメラと、所定条件に応じて、後方画像(RV)と後側方画像(SV)とを、それぞれの画角が重複しないように合成して単一画像(IT)を生成しディスプレイに表示させ、又は、後方画像と後側方画像とを、それぞれの画角の一部が重複する複数の画像としてディスプレイに表示させる表示制御部(18)とを備える。【選択図】図４
