To provide a building material having excellent durability.SOLUTION: Provided is a building material in which a projecting part including a first side face part and a second side face part corresponding to the first side face part are formed on the surface. The building material is made of a mixture including a hydraulic material, an admixture and a vegetable reinforcement material, and the vegetable reinforcement material at least in the projecting part is distributed into the mixture in a state where the hydraulic material and the admixture are stuck. Then, the distribution of the vegetable reinforcement material in the first side face part and the distribution of the vegetable reinforcement material in the second side face part are almost the same.
