Zusammenfassung:To provide an exterior part for a timepiece which is made of shiny metal and thus is brighter and causes metal allergies less easily.SOLUTION: An external case (an example of an exterior part for a timepiece) includes: a metal base material; and a multilayer reflection layer covered with at least a part of the base material. The multilayer reflection layer has a structure in which a first inorganic material layer with a first index of refraction and a second inorganic material layer with a second index of refraction are alternately deposited, the first index of refraction being smaller than the second index of refraction. The first inorganic material layer includes at least one selected from the group of silicon oxide, aluminum oxide, oxynitride aluminum, and magnesium oxide. The second inorganic layer includes at least one selected from the group of silicon nitride, zirconium oxide, boron nitride, titanium oxide, hafnium oxide, tantalum oxide, yttrium oxide, and niobium oxide.
