To provide a moving body detector and a method for manufacturing the moving body detector characterized by high production efficiency.SOLUTION: The moving body detector comprises: a magnetic detection element 10 for outputting an electric signal that corresponds to the movement of a body to be detected; a magnet 20 for adding a magnetic field to the magnetic detection element 10; a lead terminal 30 connected to the magnetic detection element 10; a first housing 40 having a storage unit 43 for storing the magnetic detection element 10, the magnet 20 and the lead terminal 30; and a second housing 50 fittingly coupled with the first housing 40 covering the storage unit 43 and arranged facing the body D to be detected.
