To provide a document conveying apparatus capable of detecting a position of a stacked sheet along a conveyance direction even if the sheet stacked in a stacking unit is folded, an image reading apparatus, and an image forming apparatus.SOLUTION: A sheet conveying apparatus includes: a sheet loading platform capable of loading sheets; detection means which is disposed to extend on an upstream side in a sheet conveyance direction and is in contact with the sheet to detect a position along the sheet conveyance direction; and second detection means which is disposed on a downstream side of the sheet conveyance direction with respect to the detection means.
