Zusammenfassung:To provide a magnetic disk device and a control method of a recording head for suppressing local protrusion occurring in the gap portion between the main magnetic pole and the return magnetic pole at the time of recording on the magnetic disk.SOLUTION: According to the embodiment, a magnetic disk device includes a magnetic disk for perpendicular magnetic recording, a recording head for occurring perpendicular recording magnetic field and a control device for controlling to recording or non-recording operation of the recording head. The recording head includes: a main magnetic pole generating the perpendicular recording magnetic field; a return magnetic pole forming a magnetic circuit with the main magnetic pole; a recording coil exciting a magnetic flux to the magnetic circuit formed by the main magnetic pole and the return magnetic pole; and a conductor of which both ends joined to the opposite surface of a write gap where a tip of the main magnetic pole and a tip of the return magnetic pole face each other and the resistance value changes between recording time and non-recording time. The controller includes a current supply source that supplies the current for exciting the magnetic flux to the recording coil during the recording operation and a constant voltage source that causes the current to flow at a constant voltage to the magnetic circuit formed by the main magnetic pole and the return magnetic pole in which the current collector interposed therebetween.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】磁気ディスクへの記録時に、主磁極とリターン磁極との間のギャップ部に生じる局所的な突出しを抑制する。【解決手段】実施形態によれば、磁気ディスク装置は、垂直磁気記録用の磁気ディスクと、垂直記録磁界を発生する記録ヘッドと、記録ヘッドの記録・非記録動作を制御する制御器とを備える。記録ヘッドは、垂直記録磁界を発生する主磁極と、主磁極とともに磁気回路を形成するリターン磁極と、主磁極とリターン磁極が形成する磁気回路に磁束を励起する記録コイルと、主磁極の先端部とリターン磁極の先端部が対向するライトギャップの対向面に両端面が接合され、記録時と非記録時で抵抗値が変化する通電体とを備える。制御器は、記録動作時に記録コイルに磁束を励起するための電流を供給する電流供給源と、通電体を挟んで主磁極及びリターン磁極に形成される磁気回路に対して定電圧で電流を流す定電圧源とを備える。【選択図】図1
