Zusammenfassung:	To establish compatibility between a smooth opening/closing operation and miniaturization of equipment, in printing equipment comprising a scanner part capable of being opened/closed with respect to a printer body part.SOLUTION: A pinion gear 7 is supported in a printer body part 11, and a rack gear 4 is attached to a scanner part 2 so that its one end can swing around a swing fulcrum 401. The rack gear 4 swings around the swing fulcrum 401 while maintaining engagement with the pinion gear 7 in association with opening/closing of the scanner part 2.
