To provide a dishwasher user-friendly because of being designed so that large tableware, cooking equipment or the like can be stably placed on an upper shelf basket.SOLUTION: A dishwasher includes: a washing tub 3 having an upper opening part on its top surface; a lower basket 14 and an upper shelf basket 15 which are arranged one above the other in the washing tub 3 and on which dishes 6 are placed; and a small-article case 16 in the lower basket 14. The upper shelf basket 15 includes an auxiliary basket 17, and a backrest part 20 supporting the dishes 6. The auxiliary basket 17 and the backrest part 20 are freely turnably pivoted to the upper shelf basket 15 and held in a standing state or a falling state in the upper shelf basket 15. The small-article case 16 and the upper shelf basket 15 are structured so as to be laterally movable.
