Zusammenfassung:To provide a backlight device and a liquid crystal display device, capable of preventing reduction of luminance and ununiformity, and having improved display quality.SOLUTION: A backlight device comprises: a light guide plate LG comprising an emission surface S1 having a flat area FA, and an inclination area CA inclined from an end part of the flat area to the outside of the surface; a light source configured to make light incident into the light guide plate; and an optical diffusion sheet OS3 overlappingly arranged on the emission surface. The optical diffusion sheet OS3 has a diffusion flat area FAO overlapped with the flat area of the emission surface, and a diffusion inclination area CAO overlapped with the inclination area of the emission surface, and a haze value of the diffusion inclination area is higher than a haze value of the diffusion flat area.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6 【課題】実施形態の課題は、輝度の低下、不均一性を抑制し、表示品位の向上したバックライト装置および液晶表示装置を提供することにある。【解決手段】実施形態に係るバックライト装置は、平坦領域FAと、平坦領域の端部から面外に傾斜する傾斜領域CAとを有する出射面S1を具備した導光板LGと、導光板に光を入射する光源と、出射面に重ねて配置された光学拡散シートOS3と、を備えている。光学拡散シートOS3は、出射面の平坦領域に重なる拡散平坦領域FAOと出射面の傾斜領域に重なる拡散傾斜領域CAOとを有し、拡散平坦領域のヘイズよりも拡散傾斜領域のヘイズが高い。【選択図】 図6
