Zusammenfassung: | To provide a congestion prediction device and a congestion prediction method therefor capable of suppressing a reduction in prediction accuracy related to congestion, and suppressing a processing load.SOLUTION: A congestion prediction device comprises: a detection part 51e for detecting a front vehicle on a passing lane with respect to a traveling lane of an own vehicle on the basis of image information from an on-vehicle camera; a first calculation part 51f for calculating an inter-vehicle to the detected front vehicle on the passing lane; a second calculation part 51g for calculating a speed of the front vehicle on the passing lane on the basis of a speed of the own vehicle and a change in the calculated inter-vehicle distance; a measurement part 51h for measuring time since the front vehicle on the passing lane is detected until a new front vehicle is detected on the passing lane; a traffic volume calculation part 51i for calculating a traffic volume on the passing lane on the basis of the speed of the front vehicle on the passing lane and the measured time; and a congestion prediction part 51j for predicting occurrence of congestion on the basis of the calculated traffic volume on the passing lane.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
【課題】渋滞に関する予測精度の低下を抑え、且つ、処理負荷についても抑えることができる渋滞予測装置及びその渋滞予測方法を提供する。【解決手段】渋滞予測装置は、車載カメラからの画像情報に基づいて、自車両の走行車線に対する追越車線における前方車両を検出する検出部51eと、検出された追越車線における前方車両までの車間距離を求める第1算出部51fと、自車両の速度、及び、算出される車間距離の変化に基づいて、追越車線における前方車両の速度を算出する第2算出部51gと、追越車線における前方車両が検出されてから、追越車線において新たな前方車両が検出されるまでの時間を計測する計測部51hと、追越車線における前方車両の速度、及び、計測された時間に基づいて、追越車線の交通量を算出する交通量算出部51iと、算出された追越車線の交通量に基づいて、渋滞の発生を予測する渋滞予測部51jとを備える。【選択図】図2 |
