Zusammenfassung:To provide a ship and ship maneuvering method that, when the ship is sailing while being disturbed by wind, wave, and so on, reduce an amount of helm check required to hold a course and, at the same time, obtain propulsion power, making it possible to improve propulsion efficiency during oblique sailing.SOLUTION: A sail 5 is provided only in a range further on a bow 2 side than a mid-ship MS, which is a middle position between a fore-perpendicular and an after-perpendicular of the ship 1, and a sailing angle θ for this sail 5 made changeable. When the ship 1 is sailing while being disturbed by at least one of wind or wave, a turning moment O.M caused in the ship 1 due to oblique shipping is reduced, a sailing angle θ for the sail 5, which reduces an amount of check of helm 4, required to hold a course, is calculated. On the basis of the result of the calculation, the sailing angle θ for the sail 5 is controlled.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】船舶が風や波等の外乱を受けて斜航している際に、針路保持に要する舵の当舵量を減少させ、同時にセールによる推進力を得て、斜航時における推進効率を向上させることができる船舶及び操船方法を提供する。【解決手段】船舶1の船首垂線と船尾垂線との中央位置であるミッドシップMSよりも船首2側の範囲のみにセール5を備え、このセール5のセール角度θを変更可能に構成する。そして、船舶1が風又は波の少なくとも一方の外乱を受けて斜航している際に、斜航によって船舶1に生じる回頭モーメントO.Mを低減して、針路保持に要する舵4の当舵量を減少させるセール5のセール角度θを算出し、その算出結果に基づいてセール5のセール角度θを制御する。【選択図】図1
