Zusammenfassung: | To provide a technique for reducing the effects of body movement when performing photoacoustic imaging using a hand-held ultrasound probe.SOLUTION: The present invention uses a subject information acquisition apparatus which includes a hand-held ultrasound probe 124, a position information detection unit 123, and an image processing unit 119. The hand-held ultrasound probe includes: an optical system for illuminating a subject 113 with measurement light emitted from a light source 101; a transducer 115 for receiving an acoustic wave 114 generated in the subject to output a signal; and an imaging unit 122 for imaging a surface of the subject to capture a texture image. The position information detection unit acquires a relative position between the ultrasound probe and the subject using the texture image captured by the imaging unit. The image processing unit generates three-dimensional volume data indicating characteristic information of the subject using a plurality of signals derived from acoustic waves received at a plurality of positions of the subject and the relative position.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
