To provide an image forming system which does not need a change of a control program.SOLUTION: An image forming system 100 includes an image forming apparatus 1 and a post-processing apparatus 2. The image forming apparatus 1 includes a sheet feeding device 13 and a first control unit 17. The post-processing apparatus 2 includes post-processing units 22, 23, 24 and a second control unit 27. The first control unit 17 transmits attribute information corresponding to a first feeding sheet being the sheet that is fed by the sheet feeding device 13 this time to the second control unit 27. The second control unit 27 transmits information indicating first time for executing post-processing by at least one of the post-processing units 22, 23, 24 and second time for the post-processing apparatus 2 to shift to an executable state where the post-processing can be executed by at least one of the post-processing units 22, 23, 24 when receiving the attribute information to the first control unit 17.
