Zusammenfassung: | To improve image quality when using a projection type image display device emitting projection light having a deviation in polarizability, in a stereoscopic image display system using polarization.SOLUTION: The projection type image display device includes a light source device which includes a plurality of light-emitting elements, a first optical system which condenses light from the light source device, an image display element which modulates the light from the first optical system on the basis of a video signal, a second optical system which enlarges and projects an image indicated by the light modulated by the image display element, a polarizing plate which is arranged on the emission side of the second optical system, and a depolarization part which is arranged between the first optical system and the polarizing plate. The depolarization part has a plurality of first areas for applying a first polarization action to incident light and a plurality of second areas for applying a second polarization action different from the first polarization action.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
【課題】偏光を用いる立体画像表示システムにおいて偏光性に偏りのある投写光を発する投写型画像表示装置を使用した場合の画質改善を実現する。【解決手段】投写型画像表示装置は、複数の発光素子を含む光源装置と、光源装置からの光を集光する第1の光学系と、映像信号に基づき、第1の光学系からの光を変調する画像表示素子と、画像表示素子により変調された光が示す画像を拡大投写する第2の光学系と、第2の光学系の出射側に配置された偏光板と、第1の光学系と偏光板の間に配置された偏光解消部と、を備える。偏光解消部は、入射光に第1の偏光作用を与える複数の第1の領域と、第1の偏光作用と異なる第2の偏光作用を与える複数の第2の領域とを備えている。【選択図】図2 |
