Zusammenfassung:	To provide screening methods or production methods of squalene synthetase like (SSL) enzyme mutant instead of screening methods or production methods of squalene synthetase like (SSL) enzyme mutant which promotes Botryococcene synthesis ability based on product by quantitative determination of Botryococcene, and to provide squalene synthetase-like (SSL) enzyme mutant and methods for producing Botryococcene utilizing the squalene synthetase-like (SSL) enzyme mutant.SOLUTION: We have divided a Botryococcene synthetic process that is involved in SSL1/SSL3 in Botryococcene synthetic pathway, into some steps, and improved step by step, in order to provide a method for screening or producing a squalene synthetase-like (SSL) enzyme mutant promoting Botryococcene synthetic ability without direct quantitative determination of Botryococcene that takes time and effort to perform the analysis operation.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 【課題】ボトリオコッセンの定量による産生物を基としてのボトリオコッセン合成能を促進させるスクアレン合成酵素様（SSL）酵素変異体のスクリーニング方法又は作出方法に代わる、スクアレン合成酵素様（SSL）酵素変異体のスクリーニング方法又は作出方法を提供すること、スクアレン合成酵素様（SSL）酵素変異体及びスクアレン合成酵素様（SSL）酵素変異体を利用したボトリオコッセンの製造方法を提供すること。【解決手段】分析操作に手間がかかるボトリオコッセンの直接定量を行うことなく、ボトリオコッセン合成能を促進させるスクアレン合成酵素様（SSL）酵素変異体のスクリーニング方法又は作出を行うために、ボトリオコッセン合成経路においてSSL1/SSL3が係わるボトリオコッセン合成工程を幾つかの工程に分けて段階的に改良した。【選択図】図２
