Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce noise generation and to detect leakage and its position in a pipe by moving a body along the approximate center of the pipe through which pressurized liquid flows.SOLUTION: In the leak detection method, a movable body 1 is moved together with liquid along an approximate center of a pipe B. The movable body is configured so as to collect and record the sound transmitted through the liquid when a pressurized liquid flows through the pipe and to detect its movement position in the pipe. From the data of sound transmitted through the liquid and recorded during the movement of the movable body and the detected movement position of the movable body in the pipe, a leakage position in the pipe is detected. The leakage detector A has the movable body 1 that is arranged with: a sound collection member 10 whose outside diameter is smaller than an inner diameter of a pipe and which collects sound transmitted through the liquid; a recording member 11 for recording the collected sound; and a position detection member 12 for detecting the movement position, and that moves together with the liquid.
