Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multilayer ceramic capacitor in which a resistance component is imparted to external electrodes and the variation in resistance value is small.SOLUTION: A multilayer ceramic capacitor comprises: a laminate including a plurality of dielectric layers 20 and a plurality of internal electrode layers 30 which are arranged in a lamination direction, and having first and second principal faces in the lamination direction, first and second side faces in a widthwise direction, and a first end face 15 and a second end face in a lengthwise direction; and an external electrode 100 provided on at least one end face of the laminate. The external electrode includes: a resistance layer 62 disposed on the end face of the laminate; a conductive layer 63 disposed on the resistance layer; and a plating layer 64 disposed on the conductive layer. The resistance layer includes metal phases, a glass and oxide. The metal phases included in the resistance layer account for 7.5 vol.% or more and 15.6 vol.% or less to an area of a section of the resistance layer.
