Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a management method of automatically identifying every steel pipe which is prevented from reading mistake upon automatic reading and does not require any human work such as attaching or detaching a label once labeled or an IC tag, removal of a laser processed portion, and so on.SOLUTION: The present invention is directed to an automatic identification management method for each of steel pipes 1, 2 subjected to processing treatments in a plurality of manufacturing processes. The automatic identification management method has a step of printing a two-dimensional code obtained by encoding manufacturing information of a steel pipe on an outer surface of the steel pipe in a way in which each of cells forming the two-dimensional code is divided into a plurality of dots, and a step of automatically reading a printed two-dimensional code with six or more cameras disposed so that visual fields of all cameras 51 - 56 should cover the entire outer surface of the steel pipe when the steel pipe is carried after the code is printed on its surface.
