PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle door lock device capable of improving the assembling property of a latch relative to a body.SOLUTION: A vehicle door lock device 100 includes: a body 21; a latch support shaft 25 inserted into the body 21; a latch 24 to be pivoted about the latch support shaft 25 between a latch position to be engaged with a striker and an unlatched position to be released from the stricker; a latch spring 241 for urging the latch 24 in the unlatch direction from the latched position to the unlatched position; and a latch stopper to be in abutment with the latch 24 urged in the unlatch direction for positioning the latch into the unlatched position.
