Zusammenfassung: | To provide a grinding device and a grinding method by which slippage between a work-piece and a spindle can be prevented in advance.SOLUTION: A grinding device 1 rotates a work-piece W whose both ends are supported by support parts (center 14, center 18) of spindles Cm, Cs and an abrasive wheel 23 which is supported by a grind wheel spindle 24 respectively, and causes the abrasive wheel 23 to relatively approach and separate from the work-piece W, thereby grinding the work-piece W. This grinding device 1 comprises: an inclination calculation part 31 which calculates a grinding resistance inclination which is inclination of a grinding resistance to a time; a threshold setting part 32 which sets a grinding resistance inclination threshold of the grinding resistance inclination; and an inclination determination part 33 which determines whether the grinding resistance inclination exceeds the grinding resistance inclination threshold or not.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
