PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a support member capable of sufficiently supporting an article to be packed and sufficiently preventing deformation and damage of the article to be packed when subjected to external force.SOLUTION: A support member 100 has a first flat plate-like support portion 1 in a standing state where the article to be packed can be put on a first upper edge 1a, a second flat plate-like support portion 2 in a standing state where the article to be packed can be put on a second upper edge 2a, and a third flat plate-like support portion 3 in a standing state where the article to be packed can be put on a third upper edge 3a. Between one end and the other end in the horizontal direction of the second support portion are connected between one end and the other end in the horizontal direction of the first support portion 1, and the first upper edge 1a and the second upper edge 2a are intersected. One end in the horizontal direction of the third support portion 3 is continuously connected to one end in the horizontal direction of the second support portion 2, and the third upper edge 3a is continuous with the second upper edge 2a.
