Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polarization plate with high transmissivity, excellent smoothness and improved reflection characteristics.SOLUTION: A polarization plate includes a substrate, a polarizer and a high refractive index layer in this order. If a refractive index of the polarizer in an absorption axis direction is na and a refractive index in a transmission axis is nt, at least the na has wavelength dependence. In one embodiment, an absolute value of a difference between a refractive index na(450) in the absorption axis direction of the polarizer at wavelength 450nm and a refraction index na(650) in the absorption axis direction of the polarizer at wavelength 650 nm is 1.0 or larger in the polarization plate.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】透過率が高く、平滑性に優れ、かつ、反射特性が改善された偏光板を提供すること。【解決手段】本発明の偏光板は、基材と偏光子と高屈折率層とをこの順に有し、偏光子の吸収軸方向の屈折率をna、透過軸方向の屈折率をntとしたとき、少なくともnaが波長依存性を有する。1つの実施形態においては、偏光板においては、波長450nmにおける偏光子の吸収軸方向の屈折率na(450)と波長650nmにおける偏光子の吸収軸方向の屈折率na(650)との差の絶対値が1.0以上である。【選択図】図1
