PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device comprising a plurality of input terminals and capable of switching a transmission path necessary to generate a display image according to a change in a data format of the image to be input, and a method for controlling the same.SOLUTION: A display device 200 comprises: a display unit 205 which displays an image; a plurality of input terminals 201a to 201d for receiving a plurality of image signals; a terminal determining unit 204 which determines the input terminal used to display an image in the display unit 205 among the plurality of input terminals 201a to 201d; and a display control unit 204 which displays a display image in the display unit 206 on the basis of the image signal received via the input terminal determined by the terminal determining unit 203.
