Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus for manufacturing a glass fine particle deposit, capable of suppressing the reduction of effective part of a glass fine particle deposit to be manufactured and suppressing damage when dehydrating and sintering the glass fine particle deposit to be transparent.SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing a glass fine particle deposit comprises: supplying glass raw material gas to a glass fine particle formation burner 8 while controlling the flow rate of the glass raw material gas by a flow rate control mechanism 16; and forming a glass fine particle sedimentary layer on a start glass rod reciprocally moving in the axial direction and rotating. The flow rate of the glass raw material gas supplied to the burner 8 when forming both ends of the sedimentary layer without changing the flow rate of the glass raw material gas controlled by the flow rate control mechanism 16 is smaller than that of the glass raw material gas supplied to the burner 8 when forming a portion except both ends.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
【課題】製造されるガラス微粒子堆積体の有効部が短くなることを抑制し、ガラス微粒子堆積体を脱水及び焼結させて透明化する際に破損することを抑制することができるガラス微粒子堆積体の製造方法および製造装置を提供する。【解決手段】ガラス微粒子生成用のバーナ8に流量制御機構16でガラス原料ガスの流量を制御しつつ供給し、軸方向に往復移動するとともに回転する出発ガラスロッドに、ガラス微粒子の堆積層を形成するガラス微粒子堆積体の製造方法であって、流量制御機構16で制御するガラス原料ガスの流量を変えずに、堆積層の両端部を形成する際にバーナ8へ供給するガラス原料ガスの流量を、両端部以外の部分を形成する際にバーナ8へ供給するガラス原料ガスの流量よりも少なくする。【選択図】図2 |
