Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance reading accuracy of a code by making it possible to automatically apply a smoothing filter according to need when lightness of an image is made lighter by increasing gain.SOLUTION: If it is determined that the magnitude of gain set by a gain setting unit is larger than a prescribed threshold value, an optical information reader automatically applies a weak smoothing filter to an image, and then carries out a decoding process. On the other hand, if it is determined that the magnitude of gain is equal to or smaller than the prescribed threshold value, the optical information reader carries out the decoding process without applying the weak smoothing filter.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 20 【課題】ゲインを上げることによって画像の明るさを明るくする場合に、平滑化フィルタを必要に応じて自動的に適用可能にしてコードの読取精度を高める。【解決手段】ゲイン設定部によって設定されたゲインの大きさが所定の閾値よりも大きいと判定される場合に弱平滑化フィルタを画像に自動的に適用した後、デコード処理を実行する。一方、ゲインの大きさが所定の閾値以下と判定される場合に弱平滑化フィルタを適用することなく、デコード処理を実行する。【選択図】図20
