Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an FPC which can be connected efficiently without widening a breadth even if connection terminals of the FPC are increased, and to provide an optical module using the FPC.SOLUTION: A base material 18 includes a pair of end regions at both sides in a first direction D1, and an intermediate region 24 between the pair of end regions. The intermediate region 24 has a pair of side ends 26 at both sides in a second direction D2 orthogonal to the first direction D1. The pair of side ends 26 does not project from the pair of end regions to the outside in the second direction D2, and at least one of the pair of side ends 26 enters the inside in the second direction D2 from the pair of end regions. Multiple terminals 30 include multiple end pads 36 arranged in the second direction D2 in the pair of end regions of the base material 18, respectively, and a side pad 46 positioned on at lest one of the pair of side ends 26 of the base material 18.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4 【課題】FPCの接続端子が増加しても横幅を広げることなく効率よく接続できる形態のFPCおよびそれを用いた光モジュールを提供することにある。【解決手段】ベース材18は、第1方向D1の両側にある一対の端部領域と、一対の端部領域の間にある中間領域24と、を含む。中間領域24は、第1方向D1に直交する第2方向D2の両側に一対の側端部26を有し、一対の側端部26のいずれもが一対の端部領域から第2方向D2の外側に突出することなく、一対の側端部26の少なくとも一方が一対の端部領域から第2方向D2の内側に入り込む形状をしている。複数の端子30は、ベース材18の一対の端部領域のそれぞれにあって第2方向D2に並ぶ複数の端部パッド36と、ベース材18の一対の側端部26の少なくとも一方にある側部パッド46と、を含む。【選択図】図4
