Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary electric machine capable of improving a space factor of a tortoiseshell-shaped coil in a slot.SOLUTION: The rotary electric machine includes a stator 2 in which a stator winding 23 is inserted in a slot 22 of a stator core 21. The stator winding 23 is a tortoiseshell-shaped coil wound with coil strand by a plurality of turns. The tortoiseshell-shaped coil includes a pair of straight parts 231 inserted into the slot 22 and a pair of coil end parts 232 connected with the pair of straight parts 231.
