PRINTING DEVICE AND MEMORY MANAGEMENT METHOD OF PRINTING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To try not to wait for job execution, without using any special function.SOLUTION: A printing device 1 includes a memory area 8 for use in print job, and a memory management section 40. At startup, the memory management section 40 allocates an external job dedicated area 81, used for the external job and not used for the local job, to a memory area 8, and allocates the remaining area to a common area 82. The external job dedicated area 81 is expanded by a certain amount during print stop, and is shrunk to the original size when print is resumed. The external job is allocated to a space of the common area 82, if any, otherwise allocated to the external job dedicated area 81. The local job is not allocated to the external job dedicated area 81.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4 【課題】特別な機能を用いずに外部ジョブの実行を待たせないようにすること。【解決手段】印刷装置１は、印刷ジョブに使用するメモリー領域８と、メモリー管理部４０を備える。メモリー管理部４０は、起動時に、外部ジョブに使用し、且つ、ローカルジョブに使用しない外部ジョブ専用領域８１をメモリー領域８に割り当て、残りの領域を共用領域８２に割り当てる。印刷停止時には外部ジョブ専用領域８１を一定量拡張し、印刷が再開すると元のサイズに縮小する。外部ジョブは、共用領域８２に空きがあれば共用領域に割り当て、空きがなければ外部ジョブ専用領域８１に割り当てる。ローカルジョブは外部ジョブ専用領域８１には割り当てない。【選択図】図４
