The image forming device selects whether to start printing in a normal mode or in power saving mode in which the power to be supplied to the heater 100 is reduced more than the normal mode on the basis of the difference between the required power calculated by the required power calculating unit 319 and suppliable power. There is a plurality of power saving modes. When power saving mode is selected, a CPU 32 selects one power saving mode from the plurality of power saving modes or a combination of power saving modes on the basis of the difference (S120 to S126).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
