PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To specify the amount of variation affecting image quality with a predetermined rotation position of a rotating body as a reference.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 10 acquires the amount of variation in speed of a rotating body with a head position of an adjustment image as a reference or the frequency characteristics of the amount of variation in density of the image by using a recording medium 28 on which the adjustment image is formed, converts the acquired frequency characteristics of the amount of variation into the frequency characteristics with a Z-phase signal in the rotating body as a reference, and creates the amount of correction for cancelling the amount of variation in speed of the rotating body or the amount of variation in density of the image by using the converted frequency characteristics.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7 【課題】回転体の予め定めた回転位置を基準とした、画像品質に影響を与える変動量を特定する。【解決手段】画像形成装置１０は、調整画像が形成された記録媒体２８を用いて、調整画像の先頭位置を基準とした回転体の速度変動量、又は画像の濃度変動量の周波数特性を取得し、取得した変動量の周波数特性を、回転体におけるＺ相信号を基準とした周波数特性に変換し、変換した周波数特性を用いて、回転体の速度変動量又は画像の濃度変動量を打ち消す補正量を生成する。【選択図】図７
