Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air electrode with a low electrical resistivity.SOLUTION: An air electrode comprises: a current collector; and a catalyst layer 6 provided on the current collector. The catalyst layer 6 includes catalyst particles 3 having a catalyst activity for an electrode reaction of the air electrode and a metal binder 9. The catalyst layer 6 is a thermal spraying layer, and includes complex particles having the catalyst particles 3 and a porous coating layer 5 covering each catalyst particle 3. The porous coating layer 5 is a layer comprising conductive particles 4, and preferably a layer comprising carbon particles. The catalyst particles 3 are composed of metal oxide particles. In the air electrode, the current collector preferably includes a metal mesh or porous metal plate. In addition, a metal-air battery comprises: the air electrode; a metal electrode; and an electrolyte.
