Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a locking mechanism ensuring the insertion of a belt reel independent of the mass of an inertia element.SOLUTION: In a locking mechanism 12 for a belt retractor in which an inertia element 24 is pivoted, a bearing 28 includes the inertia element 24 which is supported so as to be rotatable between an initial position and a locked position in the bearing 28. As the bearing, a conical bearing 28 including a convex support surface 34 and a concave bearing 36 is provided. Since, due to the conical bearing, the inertia element is constantly and reliably oriented in a centric manner with respect to a belt reel, a contact point between the bearing and the inertia element does not migrate. As a result, the effect of the inertia element on the insertion of the belt reel is eliminated.
