PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an installation method of a ridge ventilator capable of installing a ridge ventilator while leaving a ridge capping, a roof material and the like on a roof after the ridge capping is fixed, and to provide a building.SOLUTION: An installation method of a ridge ventilator includes: an opening formation step of forming an opening by penetration through a ridge capping, a coping, a roof material and a roof board in this order; a cut-off treatment step of covering an inner peripheral surface of the opening, an upper edge surface of the opening and a lower edge surface of the opening with a waterproof material; and a ridge ventilator fixing step of mounting a ridge ventilator on the ridge capping at a position covering the upper part of the opening.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】棟包が固定された後の屋根に、棟包や屋根材等を残したまま棟換気装置を設置できる棟換気装置の設置方法、及び建造物を提供すること。【解決手段】棟包、笠木、屋根材、野地板の順に、棟包と笠木と屋根材と野地板とを貫通して開口部を形成する開口形成工程と、開口部の内周面、開口部の上縁面、及び開口部の下縁面を、防水材で覆う止水処理工程と、開口部の上方を覆う位置で、棟包に棟換気装置を取り付ける棟換気装置固定工程とを有する。【選択図】 図１
