ELECTRIC MOTOR AND PUMP UNIT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric motor which can continue an operation even when a flood such as heavy rainfall occurs.SOLUTION: A totally-enclosed type electric motor 9 has a motor casing 21, a driving shaft 24 to which a rotor 30 is fixed, and a fan structure 25 arranged outside of the motor casing 21 and attached to the driving shaft 24. The fan structure 25 has a housing 45 rotatably supported by bearings 48 and 49, a blade 44 fixed to the housing 45, a magnet coupling 47 arranged between the housing 45 and the driving shaft 24 and magnetically connecting the driving shaft 24 and the housing 45, and a shaft seal 46 sealing a clearance between the housing 45 and the driving shaft 24. The magnet coupling 47 and the bearings 48 and 49 are arranged within a sealed space 56 formed by the housing 45 and the shaft seal 46.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 【課題】大雨等の水害が発生した場合であっても運転を継続することができる電動機を提供する。【解決手段】全閉型の電動機９は、モータケーシング２１と、回転子３０が固定された駆動軸２４と、モータケーシング２１の外側に配置され、駆動軸２４に取り付けられたファン構造体２５とを備える。ファン構造体２５は、軸受４８，４９に回転自在に支持されたハウジング４５と、ハウジング４５に固定された羽根４４と、ハウジング４５と駆動軸２４との間に配置され、駆動軸２４とハウジング４５とを磁気的に連結するマグネットカップリング４７と、ハウジング４５と駆動軸２４との間の隙間を封止する軸シール４６とを備える。マグネットカップリング４７および軸受４８，４９は、ハウジング４５と軸シール４６とによって形成された密閉空間５６内に配置されている。【選択図】図２
