PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide mechanical drive devices for putting a medical tool, particularly dental or surgical tool, into an oscillatory rotational motion.SOLUTION: The oscillatory rotational motion comprises an alternating rotation of the tool in a first direction of rotation by a first angle of rotation and in a second direction of rotation, which is substantially different from the first direction of rotation, by a second angle of rotation.
