| Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mailbox equipped with a flap closing mechanism capable of closing the insertion slot for the purpose of refusing insertion of fliers and the like into the mailbox of a residence that is absent or unoccupied for a long time and also capable of releasing the closure.SOLUTION: The mailbox includes: a mailbox body; an insertion slot formed in the front part of the mailbox body; an insertion slot flap for which the proximal end part is freely openably/closeably provided pivotally; and a take-out port. The mailbox is equipped with insertion slot flap locking means, namely, an insertion slot flap restraining mechanism, by which the free end part of the insertion slot flap can be fixed and released at the closing position.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 9
